A Spotlight on a Timeless Classic: The French Bistro Chair

My idea of the perfect day will always involve dining al fresco on a lovely temperate day. When I visualize the day and my surroundings, my perfect sidewalk cafe is filled with beautiful french bistro chairs. So it is should not be a surprise that I love when I see these cafe chairs popping up in home interiors by way of breakfast nooks and sunrooms. They add just the right amount of chic to a space that can be rather mundane. Bistro chairs date back to the 19th century and are made of cane or polished rattan. The cane/rattan is bent using steam and can be woven into a multitude of patterns. When made of cane these chairs of suitable for outdoor use, can weather the elements, and are resistant to mold, fungi and fading from the sun. Arm and side chairs are usually stackable for convenience.
