A Spotlight on a Timeless Classic: The French Bistro Chair
My idea of the perfect day will always involve dining al fresco on a lovely temperate day. When I visualize the day and my surroundings, my perfect sidewalk cafe is filled with beautiful french bistro chairs. So it is should not be a surprise that I love when I see these cafe chairs popping up in home interiors by way of breakfast nooks and sunrooms. They add just the right amount of chic to a space that can be rather mundane.
Bistro chairs date back to the 19th centur

Katty Schiebeck
One of the great benefits of having a passion for interior design is being able to appreciate the myriad design styles. My own interior design style tends to be a mix of classic and transitional design but I am starting to find that my tastes are turning to a more minimal, modern aesthetic. I am obsessed with chevron and herringbone floors, marble with contrasting veining, and natural or dark wood accents. Throw in a splash of brass or chrome or nickel and I am sold. Katt

Greg Natale
I love what Greg Natale did with the kitchen of his Brisbane project. The ebony chevron cabinets, the white marble with the dark veining...it is so polished and chic. Greg does a wonderful mixing patterns and light and dark to produce bold yet tailored interiors on all of his projects. Here are photos from two of my favorite kitchens within his portfolio of work. #GregNatale #interiors #interiordesign #kitchen #kitchendesign #design #tailoreddesign #marble #whitemarble #ebo

Craving Simplicity
In a world of so many distractions, I sometimes find myself craving simplicity and a quieter way of life. The interiors below are great examples of simple, uncluttered living. I'll take one of each, please. :) #simplicity #contemporarydesign #interiordesign #bedroomdesign #bedroom #livingroom

Interior Design: Bedroom Inspiration
Obsessed with the moodiness of this bedroom and the size of the headboard. And really, how can you go wrong with white sheets and a fur throw? #interiordesign #bedroomdesign #upholsteredheadboard #moodyspace #moodybedroom #tuftedfurniture #tuftedheadboard #tufting

A Spanish Villa Fit For A Prince
If you are anything like me, the shock of Prince Rogers Nelson's death may be just starting to wear off and you may be coming around to the glum realization that it is, in fact, true and that the world has indeed lost another of its greatest musicians. How depressing to consider. However, I have found some joy in perusing old articles and photos about the villa in Marbella, Spain, Prince at one time owned with his former wife, Mayte Garcia. The villa is stunning in it's Sp

This One Type Of Tile Can Help Your House Sell 63 Days Faster Than The Average Home Sale...
I've always been a fan of subway tiles. I love that they lend themselves to clean, classic design. They are understated but pack a sophisticated punch. Subway tiles were first introduced over 100 years ago when they were selected by architects, George C. Heins and Christopher Grant Lafarge, for the New York Subway system. With the longstanding history of these tiles, it is no surprise that last week Business Insider reported 6.9% of homes with subway tiles sold above thei

Fashion Fridays: 04.15.2016
This week my social media feeds have been filled with posts from everyone either participating or getting ready to participate in Design on a Dime, High Point Market, the Lenox Hill Gala, and Salone del Mobile. I have been particularly keen in keeping up with every thing coming out of Salone del Mobile, the world's largest design fair held in Milan, Italy, and I was not disappointed when I learned Dolce & Gabbana teamed up with Smeg to produce a limited edition line of 100 re

Fashion Fridays: 04.08.2016
It's been a while since I've done a Fashion Friday post, so today's post should be a pleasant surprise. I love fashion just about as much as I love interior design. In my design sourcing, I am always running across fabrics that I think will make for good blazers, pants, and skirts and I have lots of ideas for incorporating fashion trends into fabric and furniture. That said, when I stumbled upon Sasha Bikoff's website the other day, I fell in love with, not only her interi
